LINCOLN: No Other Anything
COMMERCIAL
VENDOR: Public VFX
2D Supervisor:  James Allen
Director:  Lance Accord
ROLE: Flame Artist / Compositor

I really enjoyed working on the Lincoln campaign, because it was primarily a 2D job in Flame, with 3D support only coming in the form of supporting mattes, floor textures, and camera tracks.

On the surface, much of what you see doesn't seem complicated. But I can tell you from experience, all of it was bitch to achieve. And that's the beauty of it.

Flopped plates that needed badges, license plates, and additional body features to be corrected, so they didn't read backwards. Camera car reflections that needed to be removed from extremely reflective moving surfaces. Dashboard monitors that need to be replaced on moving plates with constant focus pulls. Sets that needed to be re-lit through color correction, using camera tracks and mattes projected on cards. Motion blur that needed to be removed from stabilized plates of the main talent, who's also speaking.

Yeah, there were some challenges that required some long hours to pull off. But it was still a blast!
