ALIEN VS. PREDATOR: REQUIEM Regardless of one's opinion on this sequel's merits, it did represent a huge amount of work for a rather small team of artists. Hydraulx is not a huge shop. They're somewhere in the middle. And "AVP-R" was a huge effects show, mainly because it was a moderate-to-low budget film that needed to look like an A-level picture. On the comp side, it utilized every trick in the book to get away with as much as possible as quickly as possible: CG alien jaw strikers, blood, gore, flies, debris, and spark hits/explosions; tracking and integration of matte paintings for wounds, landscapes, and battle damage; various rig removals and clean-ups; color correction; and 2D deformations and warping. This compilation features a number of shots I worked on, each with a description of my contributions. All comping was done on Inferno and Flame.
