SECRET, STRANGE & TRUE
BROADCAST GRAPHICS PACKAGE
CLIENT:  TechTV
ART DIRECTOR:  Rick McKee
ROLE:  Lead Flame Artist

"Secret, Strange, and True" featured an exposé on the Pentagon, and how it was actually constructed as a giant satantic portal for evil to be channeled into the world. Whether that's true or not is certainly up for debate. But it gives you a pretty good idea of what this TechTV documentary was going for. Sensational. Mysterious. Provocative. Outrageous. True (at least to certain parties).

Unfortunately, the show open isn't nearly as enticing as the content would want it to be. But that was a conscious choice made by executives that had nothing to do with me.

Instead, the spot became a typographical work, attempting to capture the tone of each of the title's three words through motion and color. And considering that, it's fairly slick and gets the job done.

Created and comped in Flame.
